The 30,000th product was donated to Helping the Homeless Wales

Our Port Talbot depot has reached a milestone in its product donation initiative, by reaching a total 30,000 products!

Donations have continued to be made through The Warburtons Foundation, which sees regular product donations go directly into the hands of those families most in need, through community hubs including schools and food banks.

The 30,000th product was donated to Helping the Homeless Wales, a charity that helps people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or recovering from homelessness in Wales.

Christina O’Leary, Warburtons Community Champion at Port Talbot, said: “As a family business, we are really proud to be able to help so many schools and community groups through our product donation scheme. Over the last 9 months alone we have donated over 30,000 bakery products to schools, foodbanks, and community shops in and around Port Talbot, including organisations such as FareShare South Wales, Pembrey and Burry Port Foodbank and Cardiff West Community High School”.

The Warburtons Foundation, which launched earlier this year, aims to help community organisations in local areas throughout the UK. In addition to financial giving, the Foundation provides food education initiatives and product donations with a pledge to donate one million fresh products nationally to schools, foodbanks and community groups by the end of the year.

Jonathan Warburton, Chairman of Warburtons, added: “Warburtons has always been a family business committed to supporting communities up and down the country. The Foundation has enabled us to reaffirm this support, offering aid through product donation, education, and financial giving. In what has been a very testing couple of years, we will continue to listen and act so that we can support families as best we can and feel privileged to be in a position where we can help such deserving causes”.
