As a food manufacturing business, our products are dependent on the natural world around us.
It is our responsibility to limit the unnecessary use or waste of natural resources, as well has handle any surplus material responsibly.
We are working towards becoming a zero waste to landfill business through minimising our packaging whilst maximising its recyclability, redistributing our edible food waste, and partnering with chosen vendors to reduce, recycle and reuse other finite resources.
Food Waste
Whether it’s through our manufacturing operations or our distribution chain, we’re committed to sending zero food waste to landfill, and we have successfully re-diverted all food waste from our direct operations away from landfill since 2015.
Packaging
As the largest bakery brand in the UK, we recognise that we must take a responsible approach to how we package our products to minimise our impact on the planet for future generations. We don’t have all the solutions yet, but we are continuously looking at ways we can remove and reduce packaging and make it easier to recycle.
Zero Waste to Landfill
In line with national Simpler Recycling legislation, we have streamlined our approach to managing non-product waste across all sites. A cross-functional project team is completing this work in 2025, with the ultimate aim of increasing recycling rates, ensuring compliance, enhancing overall waste management efficiency and reducing our scope 3 emissions in this category.
