| A human body contains more than 1kg of calcium,
and the vast majority is in our bones. As well as healthy bones, you also need
calcium for strong teeth. It also helps our nerves and muscles to work effectively. Calcium
is important whatever your age but it's particularly important in the diets of
babies and growing children, teenagers, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and
those over 45. Good sources of calcium are milk and dairy products (even
low fat varieties are good sources of calcium), fish with soft bones, nuts, dark
green leafy vegetables and fortified bread. Bread can make an important contribution
to providing calcium in the diet. Our Milk Roll and Healthy Harvest bread includes higher levels of calcium than normal breads.
