This department covers all the main functions of our bakeries ' Production, Engineering, Hygiene, Stores, Technical and Food Safety. Working closely together throughout the process of creating tasty Warburtons products from the finest ingredients, they'll make sure we have enough high quality raw materials, make, slice and package our products and maintain work areas to our exacting hygiene standards.

    What's your role?

    I'm a Technical Assistant at Eastwood Bakery. I'm responsible for quality ' carrying out mostly plant-based research to improve product standards. My responsibilities include microbiological testing, raw materials scoring and quality training ' I'm also the site assessor for improve ' an internal quality assurance initiative.

    Has the company helped you develop?

    Most definitely! I've received excellent development and guidance from the company. To date, I'm one of only two technical assistants to complete the Technical Excellence course. I've found it hugely valuable in my day-to-day work.

    What achievement are you most proud of?

    That I've been instrumental in reducing complaints at Eastwood through my work on bread quality. Complaints have reduced from 11.37 per million products sold to 3.8 per million.

    Are you working towards a different role?

    My ambition is to progress to either Quality or Technical Manager. For me, this is a very exciting prospect!

    What's your current role?

    Hygiene Stores Manager ' I make sure the Wednesbury site is clean, pest-free and complies with current legislation. I also make sure operations have the ingredients and packaging they need to continue production.

    Have you been here long?

    Eight years now. In that time I've developed from production operative to key op and team leader, and gained several professional qualifications along the way.

    What's your biggest achievement?

    Being promoted to Hygiene Stores Manager ' although I'm always looking at opportunities within the company that might be right for me.

    They're an ambitious company with lots of opportunities for development.

    What's your current role?

    Team Leader ' Production. I'm based at our Bristol manufacturing plant where I oversee my team based on the packaging line in Plant 2, wraps and thins.

    Have you been here long?

    It's 16 months now. I worked in the youth correction system before joining Warburtons' I was looking for a safer career option.

    What training or development have you received?

    My Team Manager has been very supportive, allowing me to progress to the position of Team Leader in a relatively short time.

    What are your biggestachievements so far?

    Without doubt, becoming a Key Operative after just four months of starting, and then progressing to Team Leader nine months after that.

    Why would you recommend Warburtons?

    Because the company makes me feel valued. It's as simple as that!
