Technical Risk Manager

My role sees me auditing and supporting the bakery to ensure we maintain our high levels of standards and minimise potential risks. This involves hygiene standards, health and safety standards, company procedures and legislation to ensure that our equipment is maintained at safety standards.

It’s a varied role that means interacting with all departments within the bakery and giving support to the various teams wherever necessary.

No day is ever the same, so there is a lot of variety in my working day. But on a typical day I will walk the bakery floor and look for any areas I can add value or improve. I’m always looking to offer support and advice. We have daily meetings between the various departments; this time is invaluable as it allows us to come together and lead improvements as a team.

I enjoy the challenges of the role and I also enjoy working as part of a team, I especially like interacting with different people and different departments. I get real pleasure seeing the enthusiasm that the staff have for ensuring that the product they are baking is to high quality standard – and obviously food safety is key to that. In fact that’s the biggest challenge - ensuring legislative compliance.

I value the commitment that Warburton’s place on food safety, they are extremely passionate about the brand. Everyone is incredibly professional and focused on ensuring that the product going out the door is to the highest standard. All in all, it is a very friendly company to work for, they are very focused on employee engagement, and this creates a great atmosphere to work in.
