When the sun is shining there’s no better way to entertain family, friends and neighbours than with a summer BBQ! 

 
American Style Burger

Ingredients:

  • Warburtons Sandwich Rolls 
  • Lettuce – washed and sliced 
  • Onion – sliced 
  • Beef burger – grilled 
  • Cheese slices 
  • Tomato relish 

Cover the base of a split roll with lettuce and slices of onion, place a freshly cooked burger on top and finish with a cheese slice and tomato relish. Serve immediately.

 

American Style Burger

 

 
Spicy Chicken Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Warburtons Rolls 
  • 4 chicken fillets 
  • 1 tsp flaked chilli 
  • Juice of one lemon 
  • 1 yellow pepper, seeded and sliced 
  • 6 cherry tomatoes 
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese 
  • Olive oil

Slice the chicken into strips about 2cm wide and place in a bowl with lemon juice, olive oil and chilli flakes.

Marinate for at least one hour before barbecuing.
While the chicken is cooking, grill the pepper and tomatoes until soft.

When everything is ready, place in four Warburtons Rolls and top the chicken with a slice of mozzarella. Let it melt before eating.

Summer Sizzler

Ingredients: 

  • Warburtons Sandwich Rolls 
  • Cheese spread 
  • 500g lean beef, finely minced 
  • 1 onion, finely chopped 
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 
  • Cherry tomatoes, iceberg lettuce and red onion to garnish 

Place minced beef, onion and seasoning in a bowl and mix well. Shape mixture into 6 burgers. Cook burgers for 7 mins on both sides (or until cooked). 

Lightly toast and butter the rolls. Place a burger in a roll and garnish with shredded lettuce, tomatoes and onion slices. Finally add a generous amount of cheese spread.

Vegetarian Kebabs

Ingredients:

  • Warburtons Seeded Sandwich Rolls 
  • 1 red pepper, seeded and chopped into 2cm dice
  • 1 aubergine chopped into 2cm dice
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 wooden skewers 

Sprinkle the aubergine with salt and leave for 30 minutes, then rinse. Meanwhile soak the wooden skewers in water to stop them burning. Thread each skewer with a piece of pepper, aubergine, a tomato and a mushroom and repeat. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Then barbecue, turning frequently until cooked. Serve in Warburtons Seeded Rolls.

Simple Summer Pancakes

Serves 2 people
Preparation time: 5 minutes 

Ingredients:

  • 6 Warburtons Pancakes
  • Seasonal fruits like strawberries, blackberries, raspberries 
  • Double cream 
  • A little icing sugar 
  • Raspberry or other fruit sauce

Layer the pancakes with a selection of the fruits and freshly whipped double cream. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with the fruit sauce drizzled over the top.

Hints and tips:

Ask your guests to bring something to either cook on the BBQ and provide some drink, that way it’s inexpensive but lots of fun!
