IntroductionThese resources have been prepared by an experienced teacher. They select those areas of the QCA schemes of work where ICT can be used effectively to support teaching and learning. The activities have been chosen from each of the sections within a particular unit. At key stage 2 there is a selection of IDEAs, focused practical tasks and a design and make assignment. At key stage 3 the selection is taken from product evaluations and focused practical tasks, with a suggested design and make assignment. Using the resourcesEach resource offers a suggested teaching activity. This activity makes use of the online resources provided by the Warburtons website, as well as those available within most classrooms. The links for each activity are provided in the resources section. You can use the page live in your lesson, or visit each of the links and store them into your favourites using the favourites menu at the top of your internet page. Alongside each activity there is a pupil activity sheet. This can be printed as an additional classroom resource. Just look for this icon to print any page -
In planning the resources for each unit the sequence of activities were designed to work towards a successful design and make assignment, while covering most of the objectives and learning outcomes for the entire unit. However, each lesson stands alone as an activity, and the links and resources they contain can be used independently to adapt the sequence to your school's individual plans. We hope that your pupils enjoy using these activities, and that you find the resources offered by Warburtons to be a useful addition to your own teaching tools. The Warburtons education site also offers a range of further information and activities that can be used to link to other areas of the curriculum, in particular to science, maths and geography.
