Lego
for a new 'Lego room' at the school's Monday club
The Monday Club,
which is run by Friends of Perry Beeches Junior School, was set up twenty years
ago and has over 120 children attending each week. The club offers pupils
at Perry Beeches the chance to take part in a number of activities after school,
including football and badminton as well as allowing them to use the computer
room and the art room. Elizabeth Chetwynd-Morsley, who helps run the
Monday Club, says: "We rely heavily on the support of local businesses and the
community, and thanks to the generous donation from Warburtons, we will continue
to provide a fun club for the children. Warburtons has also helped us with our
Celebration Day this year, providing rolls for our barbecue, which were delicious!" |  |  |

Clissold Swimming Gala
Warburtons, the family baker, ‘dough’-nated £150 to the Clissold
Swimming Club, to assist with the funding of the annual christmas club swimming
gala for children in Hackney and the surrounding area. The Clissold Club Swimming
Gala took place at the Kings Hall Leisure Centre and featured nearly one hundred
children aged five to fifteen, from the local area. The fastest male and female
swimmer were awarded with a Warburtons Trophy.

Colfes Preparatory School gets the
Super School experience Children at Colfes Prep School in Greenwich
enjoyed a champion sized treat when James McGranahan – Commonwealth Games
Gymnast – displayed his skills as part of an initiative to motivate and
inspire young children into getting fit through sport. The visit was organised
by the local Warburtons bakery at Enfield and Super Schools, an organisation established
over 25 years ago, which visits schools around the country with major international
athletes to promote the importance of exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle
to children. Warburtons will provide nutritional information and healthy
fun recipes to pupils along with samples of All In One loaf – the truly
white loaf with all the goodness of wholemeal. |  |

Warburtons
helps Welsh pupils be safe and seen Pupils at 11 schools in Wales
will be safe and be seen this winter, thanks to a donation of high visibility
safety waistcoats from Warburtons. The family baker has provided each school
with a set of 30 bright yellow waistcoats with reflective strips as part of its
Use Your Loaf – Be
Safe and Be Seen initiative. Warburtons linked with the road safety officers
from various councils to promote the campaign and help increase children’s
awareness of the importance of being seen and safe. |  |

Muirpark
Residents Toast Christmas Donation Residents of the Muirpark Care Home
for Older People will celebrate in style over the festive season after Warburtons
contributed £100 towards their Christmas fund. The money will be d
by the home in Viewpark to fund a range of activities for residents including
a party and a trip to a local hotel for a Christmas lunch. The home has 30 residents,
with the oldest being 99 years old. |  |

Warburtons supports Roller Skating Competition Warburtons ‘dough’-nated
£150 to Alumwell Roller Skating club, Walsall to buy the medals for their
annual roller skating competition. The competition which took place at Alumwell
Community centre on Saturday 12th November, saw over one hundred children from
as far as Middlesbrough and Colchester compete against each other in over 20 events.
Joan Preston, who runs the Alumwell Skating Club says: “It was a fantastic
day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thanks to the generous donation from
Warburtons, we were able to reward the children for their hard work with medals
to take home. Warburtons also provided some delicious new All In One Riddlers
to keep everyone fuelled through out the day!” |  |

Hill Football Team Warburtons, the family baker, has donated £150
to College High School, Erdington. The money has gone towards buying new football
kits for the school’s teams.The donation is part of Warburtons
Community Commitment programme, an ongoing initiative to provide financial
support to the local communities in the regions served by its bakeries. Head Teacher,
Mrs Kim Popratnjak, comments: “We are thrilled that Warburtons has supported
us in buying the new football kits. It is important that the pupils have a football
kit that they can be proud of when they are representing the school and Warburtons
has enabled us to buy a kit that they will hopefully be winning games in!” |

Edwards is turned into a Super School Teenagers at William Edwards
School & Sports College in Grays, Essex enjoyed a champion sized treat when
Darren Campbell – British Olympic Gold and Silver medallist – gave
a sporting demonstration as part of an initiative to motivate and inspire youngsters

bakery at Enfield and Super Schools to promote the importance of exercise as part

Cycling
Safe Pupils cycling to Hallgate Infants School in Cottingham will
be clearly visible and safer thanks to a donation of 60 high visibility jackets
from Warburtons, the family bakers. The donation has been used as part of the
school’s ‘bike to school week’ where pupils wishing to travel
to school on their bicycle were issued with a bike permit and high visibility
jacket. |  |

and organise 14 murals in Wales to brighten up hospitals, schools and hospices.

schoolchildren set to benefit from Warburtons ‘Use
your Loaf’ road safety initiative

group of schoolchildren from Daisyfield Primary School, Clinton Street, Blackburn,
are the proud owners of new, high visibility safety jackets thanks to family bakers,
Warburtons. Children from the school were recently presented with a set
of jackets by Sean Dand, who works in sales development for Warburtons’
Burnley Bakery. “We are always looking for ways to support the local
community especially initiatives which promote health and safety – something
which is very close to our hearts,” said Sean. | | This
is the latest phase of a three -year campaign to equip youngsters with safety
jackets and to ensure they are clearly visible when they are out and about. Warburtons
has already donated 1,500 jackets to schools across the North West since 2002.
Head teacher at the school, Peter Fenton said; “We are delighted with
jackets especially as the nights are drawing in and winter is approaching.”

Braintree
Sports Project Warburtons, the family baker has ‘dough’-nated
£150 to Braintree Sports Project to purchase essential sports equipment,
such as Hockey kits and footballs for young people in the local area. The Braintree
Sports Project began in 2001 and welcomes hundreds of young people to the weekly
sports sessions throughout the district of Braintree. The club offers local children
the chance to take part in a number of sports based activities that include hockey,
basketball, football, netball and many others. |  |

off his skills as part of an initiative to motivate and inspire youngsters to

Wright was given a boost by family bakers, Warburtons who awarded her £350
to buy a pair of cool new ice-skating boots, which she took to a special summer
training school in Canada. Sophie caught the eye of the family bakers as she trains
at Blackburn ice rink every day - a 60 mile round trip for her. Sophie is currently
in training for the British Championships and eventually the Olympics. |

a new academy kit thanks to a £1000 donation from Warburtons Yorkshire. For the
last few seasons the under 19s side, who compete in the Northern Alliance League,

Red Rose Majorettes Warburtons donated tracksuits for the members of a
talented local majorette troupe - the Bolton Red Rose Majorettes. The girls attended
the Universal Majorette Championships in Yorkshire, wearing their new tracksuits
and defending their "dinky section" from last year's championships, competing

that deals with children dealing with trauma; and Ty Hafan, the only children's

jackets help Morpeth pupils to stand out The outstanding pupils of a Morpeth
school will stand out even more in future thanks to a set of 30 hi-viz jackets
supplied by Warburtons. The children at Stobhill Gate First School, Stobhillgate,
Morpeth are now the proud owners of bright yellow waistcoat jackets, with reflective

year anniversary, the family pledged £125 to 125 different charities, varying
from the Dyslexia Association, to several Children's Hospices. | |

| In 2002 Warburtons created and funded the 'Make A Difference Appeal', a project
aimed at helping charities in the midlands. The selected charities are primarily
family and local community orientated, such as the Hereford Playcare Association
and Bicester Fire Station. |  |

Schools Initiatives Crammed full of practical information
for children of all ages, Warburtons sponsored Crime Packs include information
on how to give first aid, the dangers of smoking, alcohol abuse and guidelines
on how to deal with day-to-day issues, such as bullying and teasing in the school
environment. Bread and Sandwich Making Workshops
| The Warburton family takes its baking expertise
and knowledge into local schools with its Bread and Sandwich Making Workshops.
These Workshops aimed at Year 5/6 children (aged 9-12) and Year 3/4 children (aged
6-9) are fun, yet educational, bringing learning to life for children. They have
been developed in line with the National Curriculum, which stipulates children
should cover a practical application relating to bread and knowing the importance
of a healthy balanced diet. |  |
